Puglisi, Anna M.

Age 87, was called home to our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 20, 2012. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 3, 1924, to Alexander and Rose (Caola) Masone. She worked for many years in the banking industry in New York City until she and her husband, Rosario, moved to Rio Rancho in 1972 where she worked as a customer account services supervisor for AMREP.

Mrs. Puglisi was a charter member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho, where she was an active member of the Altar Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters. She had a deep and abiding faith that she shared with her community. Anna enjoyed serving others and often volunteered with the Veterans Auxiliary at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque. Those who knew her share fond memories of her cooking and her chiding to "Mangia, Mangia" which means "Eat! Eat!" in Italian.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Rosario, who passed away in 1998.

Anna is survived by her children, Alfred Puglisi and wife, LeAnn, of Rio Rancho, NM, Rosary Valdez and husband, Andrew, of Sierra Vista, AZ and Alexander Puglisi of Santa Fe, NM; grandchildren, Diana Puglisi, Marissa Martinez, Jessica Valdez, and Valerie Valdez.

A Viewing and Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Friday, June 22, 2012 at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM.

The Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am, with the Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 10:30 am, on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Entombment will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park, Rio Rancho, NM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Anna's honor to the Felician Sisters Convent, 4210 Meadowlark Lane, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
